The Gadget Show Live Sneak Peek: AR.Drone
The AR.Drone is a remote controlled helicopter drone, which can be controlled by your Apple iPhone, and on which you can play augmented reality games. You’ll be able to find out more about the Drone at the Gadget Show Live next week, but in the meantime join us after the break.
Drone helicopters were once the preserve of the military, or electronics geeks capable of making their own. The AR.Drone lets you buy your own mini helicopter drone, and control it using your Apple iPhone. You can even play games with it, using other Drones.
The AR.Drone features a built-in camera, so you’ll be able to peer down on the world via your iPhone, and this functionality also allows you to play AR (Augmented Reality) games. It’s when two AR.Drones are combined that the real fun starts, though, with the ability to chase and shoot your rival.
The AR.Drone will be at the Gadget Show Live next week, so be sure to try and get your hands on one if you may the pilgrimage to the Birmingham NEC.
