Teufel does surround sound in style

German hi-fi specialist Teufel has unveiled its latest home surround sound system, the Theater 100.

Taking the place of the existing Theater 1, the 100 comes dressed up in a classy dark brown wooden case with black detailing, and is aimed both at home cinema enthusiasts and music lovers.

It’s a 5.1 surround sound setup made up of a pair of unidirectional front speakers, a centre speaker with identical drivers, two dipole rear speakers with double drivers, and a 250W Class D sub-woofer reaching down to frequencies of just 33Hz.

Teufel says the result of all that clever tech working together is “an extremely homogeneous, dynamic sound” delivering higher levels of sound quality than the Theater 1 without an increase in price.

And on that note, the Teufel Theater 100 system has been priced at £535, and can be ordered now as a full set or in parts from Teufel’s website.
