Tesco reveals 12-month iPhone deals

Tesco reveals 12-month iPhone deals Tesco is the only network offering the iPhone on a 12-month contract

Tesco may have left it late, but its iPhone 4 tariffs have still managed to steal the headlines barely hours ahead of the handset’s official launch.

Not only does Tesco take the crown for having the cheapest monthly deal at just £20 per month, but it’s also the only network offering the iPhone on a 12-month contract – a point worth remembering considering Apple has updated the iPhone once a year every year since its launch in 2007.

Of course, that headline low-cost deal inevitably requires a fairly hefty wodge of notes up front – £259 for the cheapest 8GB model up to £429 for the 32GB flagship, and you’re limited to 250 minutes of calls, though unlimited texts and 1GB of data make for better reading.

The second contract option is also over 12 months, but sees the monthly fee rise to £35 a month for 750 minutes, with the up-front price for the iPhone itself falling to between £129 and £299. The only way to get the iPhone free through Tesco is to go for the high-end £45-a-month deal over 24 months, which adds unlimited minutes to the deal and sees the 8GB come gratis, though you’ll still have to pay £99 should you want the 32GB iPhone.

Wookey

Good deal if you can get it. It's now 4 August and since the iphone launch Tesco mobile (by phone) has been plagued with ordering problems and there's not many, if any, sold this way. Then you have the stores - the biggest Tesco in the South West told me they had only had 26 since launch. I was lucky enough to be on their 'waiting list' and i got one but my husband is still waiting. Sadly a shambles from Tesco. If any other provider offered a 12 month contract right now they would wipe the floor with Tesco. Personally, i wish they would.
