Tesco picks up the Tab
Tesco is offering the cheapest Galaxy Tab deal yet
For all its promised strengths, Samsung’s soon-to-launch Android-powered Galaxy Tab slate is unlikely to ever be referred to as a bargain. So who better that margin-shaving retail colossus Tesco to step in and give the iPad-bothering tablet a more budget-friendly sheen?
The supermarket giant has set up a pre-order page for the Galaxy Tab – complete with countdown clock to its November 1 launch, and is giving you the chance to get your hands on the 16GB model for just £529 – the cheapest deal yet seen.
It does only marginally undercut Carphone Warehouse’s own pre-offer deal, but both are a full £70 below the quoted RRP.
Many pundits are expecting the Galaxy Tab to offer the most serious challenge yet to the thus-far unruffled Apple iPad in the quest for tablet supremacy.
It comes with a smaller 7in screen, but it’s Samsung’s much-loved Super AMOLED screen tech at play, which should be a treat for the eyes. Inside you get a 1GHz processor, and the latest version 2.2 of Android.

Just so you know, the screen on the Tab isn't AMLOED, it's just a standard LCD.
