TDK outs Three Speaker Boombox

TDK outs Three Speaker Boombox TDK is back in the audio hardware game

The word ‘boombox’ is one of those legendary gadget terms that gets those of a certain generation all misty-eyed for years gone by. But there’s nothing old-fashioned about TDK’s new Three Speaker Boombox for your iPod or USB drive.

The Boombox takes its place in TDK’s new Life on Record line of audio products, and among several other products is joined in the range by the Two Speaker Boombox, which – well – you probably get the difference.

Design-wise, what the pair have in common is a retro-respectful but futuristically glossy look and feel, which sees a touch-sensitive control panel sitting right beside a leather shoulder strap.

Down the side you get USB, 3.5mm and RCA connectors, which should play along with most audio sources you’d think to connect, as well as USB-capable storage drives, while you even get a larger aux connector for plugging in a guitar pick-up or microphone.

TDK’s new audio creations will be available online from next month, with prices starting at $399 for the Two Speaker model, and $499 should you want to squeeze a subwoofer between them.
