Symbian 3-powered Nokia C7 now shipping
Desirable entertainment smarts from the Nokia C7
Nokia’s C7 smartphone – the company’s second Symbian 3 handset after the Nokia N8 – is now shipping, according to the Finnish phone maker.
The C7 offers a compelling combo of features and looks every bit as desirable as the N8, headed up by a 3.5in AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and an 8-megapixel camera in a stainless steel chassis just 10.5mm thick. You also get 8GB on on-board storage, HD video shooting capabilities, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3 and built-in GPS.
Symbian 3, meanwhile, promises a renewed focus on entertainment and apps, and the C7 will come with access to thousands of apps directly from Ovi Store, with Facebook and Twitter feeds coming in directly to the homescreen.
The flagship N8 itself only launches officially on Friday after months of delays, and given that Nokia’s UK site has yet to even put up a pre-order page for the C7, it may be some time yet until “now shipping” translates into “now available”.
As yet, we still have only Nokia’s general €335 pre-tax and subsidies Europe-wide price to go on.
