Fly the Swann Remote Control helicopter with your iPhone
Christmas may be over but there ‘s never a bad time to treat yourself to the latest big boys toys. Swann is releasing new i-Fly Micro, Sky Eye, and Black Swann iPhone-controlled RC helicopters that let pilots shoot and upload their high-flying hijinks to YouTube and Facebook.
Paired with an iPhone, or another compatible Apple mobile device, the new ‘copters are the ideal gift or treat to the person that has pretty much everything, and sound dead easy to operate.
Three-channel infrared controls operate Up, Down, Forward, Backward, Left and Right turns for full navigation possibilities. Or even better, a “Tilt” mode lets you pilot the Swann helicopters by tilting your Apple iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
The Swann i-Fly Micro, Sky Eye each charge over USB, delivering up to eight minutes of flying time per charge. That should be enough time to record videos to send and share to friends over YouTube and Facebook if piloting the Sky Eye and Black Swann models.
The Swann Sky Eye includes a 512MB memory, while the Black Swann has up to 32GB when paired with a Micro SD memory card. Pricing varies from $70 to $100 for the Black Swann. A UK price and release date has yet to be announced, but expect to see the helis in stores soon.
