Suited and booted...
Introducing the HAL suit: you can own one for a mere three Gs!
So, you enjoyed the idea of Iron Man (obtaining bionic, super-human powers by putting on a robot suit), did you?. Well, allow us to introduce you to the HAL (Hybrid Assistive Limb) suit. It’s been doing the rounds for a while now, but good news for people with money to burn and super-hero tendancies: it’s about to be mass-produced by Cyberdyne and Daiwa House.
So what does it actually do? Well, it’s actually aimed at helping the elderly and people with disabilities, giving them “super’strength” mechanical assistance, that’s triggered by brain signals.
It’s actually been available for rent in Japan since last October, but now you’ll be able to buy the bionic suit for a mere $4,200 (or around £2,900 in English currency). If you think that’s all it’ll take to get you running around like Tony Stark, then don’t forget you’ve got to grow a ridiculous goatee as well. And that’s priceless…
