Star Wars: The Old Republic online multi-player pre-order

It’s been a long time in the making, but online game Starwars: The Old Republic is finally near to launch, with pre-orders now available. Offering three different editions, and the ability to play the game before most other people, it’s worth signing up early if you’re a Star Wars fan.

The Old Republic is the latest online Starwars title, and it’s set to launch in three separate editions. There’s a Standard Edition, a Digital Deluxe Edition, and a Collector’s Edition.

One of the key reasons for getting your pre-order in early is the fact you’ll get access to The Old Republic before most other people. There’s a redeem code provided to those who pre-order. The order you sign up in is also the order you’ll be able to play, rewarding those who pre-order first.

The Standard Edition offers everything you need to get started, and will no doubt be enough for most gamers. The Digital Deluxe Edition offers a few more in-game features, however, including a flare gun, training droid, your very own holographic dancer (eh?!), a visual record of in-game adventures and a unique vehicle.

For Star Wars fanatics, however, there can be only one version: the Collector’s Edition. This limited version comes with a number of physical items, including notes and sketches by a “revered Jedi Master”, a Darth Malgus statue, an Old Republic Galaxy map and lots of other kit.

Although you can pre-order Star Wars: The Old Republic, a final release date has yet to be revealed.

they aimed for a spring 2011 release, Now that the pre-order is being offered the actual main release must be fairly close. I would hope they allow a free trial period, As no one wants to pay money for something that they may not find up to their liking after a proper play of the game I would assume this game will be Pay2Play. I'm more looking forward to Guild Wars 2 than this.
