Spotify download service takes on iTunes
Spotify’s popularity has exploded over the past couple of years, and it looks likely to continue to grow with a new service now available for users. Along with streaming music, you’ll now be able to download tracks as well, playing them back over your iPod.
Spotify – the music streaming service – is an excellent option for listening to the latest music when you’re near a computer or mobile phone, but it’s not so good when you have no signal or access to the internet.
This is about to change with the new Spotify music download service, where Spotify is set to take on iTunes head-to-head. Better yet, you’ll be able to sync your downloaded MP3 playlists straight from the new Spotify app to your iPod, without even having to use iTunes.
Sounds good, especially if you’re not a fan of iTunes! Prices for downloads are as follows (for users of the free service, not premium subscribers):
10 tracks for £7.99 / 80p per track 15 tracks for £9.99 / 67p per track 40 tracks for £25 / 63p per track 100 tracks for £50 / 50p per track
The new download service is available from Spotify now.
