SoulCalibur for iPhone and iPad out now
Last week we brought you news that Dreamcast fighting classic SoulCalibur was set to arrive on the Apple App Store. Well, guess what. SoulCalibur for iPhone and iPad has finally gone on sale.
The portable version of the classic features all 19 weapon-wielding characters of old, shrunken down for iOS device-owners fighting pleasure on-the-go, for a high price.
There’s no doubting the pedigree of one of the best fighting games to appear on console. Publisher Namco Bandai seems to think so too, slapping SoulCalibur for iOS with a £7.99 price tag for both iPhone and iPad for a limited time before it reverts to a high £9.99.

For that price owners will receive the same modes found on the original Sega Dreamcast edition of the game controllable via touchscreen: Arcade Battle, Time Attack, Survival, Extra Survival where you see how many opponents you can defeat with single hit kills, a Museum where you can view items collected and a Practice mode to hone those SoulCalibur fighting skills. There is no multiplayer mode.
The release of SoulCalibur on iPhone and iPad comes ahead of the impending SoulCalibur 5 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, out in stores on 3rd February.
Have you purchased SoulCalibur for iPhone and iPad? Is it worth the price? Let us know what you think so far.
