Sony unleashes Bravia TV onslaught at CES
The Sony Bravia HX820, just one of 27 new faces
New TVs are always a big part of the show at CES, but even by those standards Sony’s plans to release 27 new Bravia TVs in the months to come is pretty impressive.
As part of a busy keynote address that featured the Cirque du Soleil and comedian Seth Rogan, Sony’s detailing of its TV roadmap for the year ahead was jam-packed with all kinds of 3D, OLED and other high-tech goodness.
Of the 27 new models, all but five are web-capable, and fully 16 are 3D-capable, an embarrassment of riches that should put a smile on any home cinema enthusiast’s face.
Top of the pile is the HX929 series, available in 46, 55 and 65 inches. Among the high-tech baubles on board is Sony’s Intelligent Peak LED Backlight local dimming wizardry, and it also supports the Media Remote app for Android or the iPhone.
Elsewhere among the new faces, which fall under nine different product lines, are models featuring extra-tough Gorilla Glass, and others that come with a Sony 720p camera for use with Skype.
The HX929 range will be available in April, while the other new models will be heading out of Sony’s doors between February and May.
