The Sony S540 Walkman lets you unleash your tunes with its built-in speakers

The Sony S540 Walkman is one sexy slither of a music machine. But then we expect nothing less from the Big S. What was a surprise were the built-in speakers that’ll free your tunes and irritate fellow commuters!

An awesome PMP with impressive multimedia credentials, the Sony S540’s special power is undoubtedly the ability to release the tunes from the shackles of the S540 courtesy of two speakers at either end. What’s more Sony’s kitted out the S540 with Clear Stereo and Clear Bass tech so tunes, like a recycling factory – should eliminate the tin.

Measuring just 10.2mm is real slim, Jim. So don’t expect it to leave an unsightly bulge when residing in your trouser pocket. Elsewhere, it has a whopping 42 hours battery life for music playback and 6.5 hours for video. That means you can watch unnecessarily long Harry Potter flicks on the 2.4-inch screen no problemo.

All that’s left to say is the Sony S540 Walkman will be arriving in September in a variety of different colours: violet, black, red and shocking pink. No word on price yet but we’ll keep you in the loop.
