Sony PS3 3D Display delayed to 2012
Back at E3 2011 Sony unveiled its Sony PS3 3D Display – a 3D television built especially for gamers that, with a pair of of 3D glasses lets two players play on one screen without splitting it. Sounds great, but now Sony has delayed its European launch until next year.
News of the delay hit after a posting on Amazon revealed that, due to a delay in getting hold of stock, the Sony PS3 3D Display will not be released in Europe in 2011.
And those who’ve pre-ordered? “If you have ordered this item from us at Amazon.co.uk your order will take longer to fulfill than originally estimated. We are expecting an update in the new year,” says a posting on the Sony PS3 3D Display page.
Sony 3D display to offer non split-screen multiplayer mode
The Sony PS3 3D Display is currently priced on Amazon at £409.99, and has still to get an official release date.
The 23.5-inch PlayStation-branded TV displays full high definition 3D images, comes with two HDMI inputs and two pairs of Active Shutter glasses to take advantage of the SimulView features that gives the illusion that two players playing on the same television set have their own independent screen.
