Sony PS Vita set for release at Tokyo Games Show next month
We’ve heard of lots of different release dates for the Sony PS Vita, but it’s looking increasingly like Sony’s handheld games console will launch at the Tokyo Games Show next month. With a phased approach throughout the world, it won’t be available everywhere at the same time, but we just want it to hit the shops.
Although it’s still not definite, it looks like next month’s Tokyo Games Show will be the arena in which the Sony PS Vita is released. “Once we’ve set the final release date, we’ll let you know. The announcement will probably come at TGS”, claimed Sony Computer Entertainment boss Hiroshi Kawano.
That means an announcement at some point between the 15th and 18th September, although it’s not all good news. The PS Vita may be hitting the shops in a couple of months, but that’s only in Japan. Sony’s latest gadget isn’t set to hit the UK or US until early next year, with January and February both possibilities.
Still, the sooner it goes on sale, the sooner we’ll get to put it to the test, and hopefully there will be some more a-list games available by the time it hits the shops here.
