Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro gets July launch date
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro appeared for pre-order at the beginning of the month, costing £350 SIM-free and offering a high-res screen and a sliding keypad. The Pro now looks set to launch in July, so you’ll have a few more weeks to wait before getting your hands on one.
Although we love touchscreen smartphones, there’s no doubt about it that some of them are tricky to use when it comes to texting on the move or writing out longer emails. That’s where handsets like the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro come in, offering a full QWERTY keypad alongside the display.
The Xperia Pro’s screen also looks like a cracker, measuring a not insubstantial 3.7 inches, and offering a pin-sharp 854×480 pixels. There’s also a 1GHz processor in place, and an 8-megapixel camera for shooting snaps or high-definition video.
We already knew the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro was set to cost £350 without a SIM card, but it now looks like the launch date is set for July.
Do you prefer a phone with a keyboard or do you like slimmer handsets that make do with just a touchscreen? Leave a comment and let us know.

A qwerty keyboard is a must. Have been hanging on to my aged htc s710. So happy that there is now a firm release date for the experia pro.
