Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro hits shops for £20 per month

Out of all the Android smartphones we’ve seen recently, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro remains one of the most intriguing. It’s a lot smaller than most smartphones, with a compact 3-inch touchscreen, yet it also gets a full sliding QWERTY keypad. The Xperia Mini Pro has finally hit the shops, and is available from £20 per month.

Smartphones like the Xperia Arc and Xperia Neo have marked a real Phoenix from the ashes moment for Sony Ericsson. Before the Arc and Neo, Sony Ericsson was struggling with handsets that were laggy, unresponsive and couldn’t compete with the best in class.

The Arc is currently one of the top smartphones on the market, however, with the Neo proving an equally capable performer. Both are packed with features, well designed and easy to use. Following this turn around in fortunes, we’re looking forward to getting our hands on the Xperia Mini Pro then, which is Sony’s Ericsson’s latest affordable smartphone.

With a 3-inch screen, it’s a lot smaller than most of its rivals, but unlike the similarly sized Xperia Mini it features a sliding QWERTY keypad as well. Despite the tiny screen, there’s space for a 1GHz processor, Android 2.3, and the same Sony Bravia tech found in the Arc.

The Mini Pro has now popped up in the Carphone Warehouse, and is available for just £20 per month with Orange. We’ll be reviewing the Mini Pro in the next couple of weeks, so be sure to check back soon.

It's available on the 3 network for £15 per month, I've had mine for several weeks now. And as i bought it through Quidco, I got £150 cashback too. So the first 10 months of the 24 month contract is paid for. I find the phone pretty powerful, linked up to googlemail really easy, facebook really easy, apps are good if you are selective, the touchscreen could do with some minor improvement, particularly when trying to select 'buttons' near the bottom of the screen, but overall i'm very happy with the phone.
