Sony Ericsson outs X10 Android phone Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 – Android goodies galore

The Sony Ericsson Experia X10 Android phone has been officially announced! The phone formerly known as the Sony Ericsson X3, it may have had a name refresh, but the specs we’ve seen leaked all over the internet remain pretty intact.

It’s comes sporting a 4-inch, capacitive touchscreen, eight megapixel camera, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 3G and Wi-Fi, plus a microSD slot.

But it’s the unique Android interface, codenamed Rachel, that’s got us all in a lather, with two key features, Timescape and Mediascape. Timescape pulls in all your contact’s social media movements in one place, so you can see their emails, texts, Facebook and Twitter in one simple stream.

Mediascape handles all your music as well as recommendations from the PlayNow service – as well as the option to pull in YouTube footage from your favourite bands.

Sony Ericsson’s first dip into the Android phone market will be on sale in the first quarter of 2010, with network carriers still to be confirmed.

Could this be the one to beat the iPhone, HTC haven't produced anything that has wow people, Sony however could be on to something here

i,ve owned this about a month now , what a cracking bit of kit :-) phone is a dream to surf with , Apps are cool and super easy to upload , camera is excellent - storage being 8 gig as standard could be more like 32 gig like the iphone , but thats its only weak point , but memory is expandable , video streaming is smooth and very easy to watch given the great screen resolution , watch out iphone theres a new kid on the block
