Sony debuts colourful voice recorders
Sony UX series – colourful conversations
Sony’s new ICD range of voice recorders feature colourful designs and MP3 playback in a bid to maximise their appeal to consumers and students.
The range comes in three flavours – the 2GB UX200 and a pair of 4GB models, the UX300 and UX300F, with the latter throwing FM radio into the pot as well.
Recordings are captured as stereo MP3s, and can be played back via the built-in speaker or a pair of supplied in-ear headphones. A noise filter helps minimise background white noise, and a 21-step speed control gives you a better chance of keeping up.
All three models feature a five-line LCD and a slide-out USB connector for hooking up to a PC, and the battery is good for 15 hours of recording and 83 hours of playback.
The base 2GB model comes in four colours – black, silver, pink or red. Stepping up to the 4GB UX300 sees silver and pink fall away, while the FM radio-enabled UX300F only comes in black.
Pricing has yet to be confirmed, but all three new arrivals will be available in December.
