Sony’s trio of 1080p Bloggie pocket camcorders head up a formidable 15 new video camera additions launched at CES in Las Vegas.
The Bloggie replaces the more prosaically titled Mobile HD Snap in Sony’s product lineup, and comes in three models all boasting full HD video recorded in MP4 format.
The PM5 and PM5K are vertical candybar style cameras aimed squarely at the likes of the Flip Video, with 4x optical zoom 2.4in LCD screens capable of swivelling through 270 degrees for maximum creative control. The PM5K sweetens the deal with a panoramic lens add-on that claims to offer 360-degree video.
The CM5, meanwhile is a pistol grip-style affair with a slightly bigger 2.5in flip-out screen and 5x optical zoom.
They all come with USB charging, face detection and HDMI connectors for porting your amateur clips straight to the nearest HD TV, along with Memory Stick Pro Duo and SD card slots.
The Bloggie range will go on sale next month – prices to be confirmed.
