Smarties set to get Flash!

Smarties set to get Flash! Adobe splashes the Flash onto pretty much every phone you can think of... bar one

Fed up of websites on your mobile phone looking like they were put together by someone who’d just started web design 101? Well Flash 10.1 promises to bring you the full-fat sites and online video streaming to just about every mobile you can think of.

Adobe promised Flash 10.1 a while ago, but now the company that brought us fun-based photo-editing frolics via Photoshop, is all set to change our mobile web-browsing experience for the better. If you fancy, say, catching up with the latest Gadget Show episodes on FiveFwd your mobile, then no problemo. Because Adobe’s confirmed hat Windows Mobile and webOS (that means Palm Pre) will be getting beta versions before 2009 is over.

Equally good news is the fact that Android and Symbian will be getting full Flashed up earlyish next year. And what’s more, BlackBerry owners will be able to get in on the act too, after Adobe announced a collaboration with the purveyors of the email phones.

It’s not all good news though. There’s still no news on Flash support for Apple’s iPhone. But hey. You can’t have everything.
