Sky News HD debuts on election night Sky News HD – coming soon

Sky has just announced that it will be launching its HD News channel on election night, becoming the UK’s first high-def news network.

Now Sky subscribers can witness all the drama of election night, marvel at the swishy infographics and cringe at political gaffes in full HD on 6 May.

The Decision Time broadcast will begin from 9pm and apparently the Sky News studio has also been given a full HD upgrade, and the cameramen out in the field have been equipped with the latest hi-def cams.

From 10 May, Sky News HD will also launch “HD Premium Panels”, an interactive service giving live feeds from developing stories as well as real-time analysis during big events.

Sky News HD will appear on channel 517 for HD subcribers.
