Shuttle launches X50 touch screen all-in-one PC Shuttle X50: Let your PC get carried away

Shuttle has formally announced the launch of X50, its latest all in-one-one PC. Packing a touchscreen interface and innovative carry handle, the Shuttle X50 also comes at a bargain price of £349.

Although netbooks have been stealing the low-cost limelight over the past couple of years, a new category of desktop PCs have also started to emerge. The latest all-in-ones, like the Shuttle X50, pack similar specs to your average Eee PC, but their desktop leanings yield larger and more practical screen sizes.

Unlike traditional desktop computers, they benefit from a small footprint that allows them to be squeezed into a wide variety of unlikely computing spaces. At 1.4” thick, the Shuttle X50 can probably find a home on any counter space or mantelpiece you haven’t already covered with tech.

Shuttle X50 offers a 15.6” touchscreen display, operated via stylus, an Intel Atom 330 dual core processor, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive. Like its ultra-portable cousins, the X50 relies on Windows XP for fast loading times and to make the most of its low specs.

But how does it compare to the ipad? My desktop is old and I can't decide what to replace it with, an ipad, a laptop or another desktop or now I can chose one of these, decisions decision eh
