Sennheiser glams up Bluetooth

Sennheiser glams up Bluetooth Ditch the call-centre look with the MM 450s

Bluetooth isn’t generally seen as the most glamorous of technologies, but Sennheiser is doing its bit to change that with what it’s describing as the most advanced Bluetooth headset ever made.

The Sennheiser MM 450 Travel features a metal-reinforced headband and soft swivelling earphone cushions, and uses the latest Bluetooth wireless standard. More importantly, the microphone is integrated into the headband, meaning you can use the MM 450s as normal headphones without looking like someone who’s got lost on the way to the call centre.

Other clever touches include Noisegard noise reduction, USB charging, a replaceable battery so you can carry spares and a talkthrough button that turns on an external microphone so you can hear conversation around you.

But making Bluetooth cool doesn’t come cheap – Sennheiser wants a princely £289 for the MM 450 Travel. It does promise hi-fi-quality performance, with “superior dynamic range, detailed sound and excellent bass response”.
