Second-gen iPod Touch out now!
The best just got better say Apple, and who are we to disagree
Not content with reinventing the MP3 player, making computers cool and giving the colour white a much-needed leg up in the popularity stakes, Apple has now made the iPod Touch even more desirable with a few minor tweaks and updates.
The new Touch is slightly curvier than before, so it feels more comfortable in the hand. And at 8.5mm deep, it’s slim too. Apple’s even managed to cram in an internal speaker, complete with volume controls on the side.
Even better news for app fans: you’ll now be able to tap up all the downloadable goodies on the Apple App Store. Simply touch the app icon and hey presto: instant access to games and more.
Fitness fans are catered for too, with the Nike +iPod software built in acting as your own personal trainer telling you how far you’ve run and how many calories you’ve burned.
As before, the Touch will come in 8, 16 and 32GB versions with room for up to 7,000 tunes. It has a music playback time of up to 36 hours and up to six hours for video.
