The Seagate Replica: like Apple Time Capsule, but for PCs
The Seagate Replica, aside from being a bizarrely-named, pebble-like object, is also an enormously handy bit of tech that could save you enormous heart ache in the future. You see, just like Apple Time Capsule and Time Machine for Mac users, the Seagate Replica allows you to back up your entire computer.
Looking like some sort of weird, squashed alien space craft, the Seagate Replica allows Windows users to automatically back up the entire contents of their PC (or several PCs if you opt for the multi-PC edition). Perfect for backing up your ahem, specialist video collection.
It lacks the wireless connection of the Time Capsule (this uses USB 2.0 instead), but comes in 250GB and 500GB capacities, the latter being the aforementioned multi-PC edition. You can fit it with a dock, in order to mount it vertically, not to mention pick it up and take it away without having to fiddle around with USB and power cables.
It’s currently only available in the US, but it should be winging its way over here shortly.
