Sanyo releases Flip-style VPC-PD2BK camcorder
Sanyo VPC-PD2BK – smarter, sharper shooter
Sanyo has just released the VPC-PD2BK Flip-style camcorder. But unlike the usual point and shoot pocket cams, the Sanyo boasts some serious specs, including a 3x optical zoom lens.
Although we have our concerns as to the safety of that zoom in our pockets, there’s no doubt that Sanyo has upped the ante for this type of device. As well as the zoom, the VPC-PD2BK sports dual mics on top for stereo sound recording, and it can also handle HD video at 1080p, 30fps.
Still images are snapped with the 10MP sensor and it also sports a rather serious-looing flash. Memories are recorded to SD/SDHC/SDXC cards.
Sanyo’s managed to keep the price in line with its competitors, however, as the VPC-PD2BK will sell for $170 in the US when it goes on sale next month. No word on a UK release date as yet, but we’re hoping it’ll make an appearance before Christmas…
