Samsung YP-R1 joins the beat!
What do you get when you cross DJ decks with a PMP?
Remember Samsung’s Beat DJ mobile phone? No? Well you weren’t missing much to be honest. But Samsung’s persisting with the Beat DJ software and throwing into a new touchscreen portable media player – the YP-R1!
Sporting a 2.6-inch touchscreen and the TouchWiz interface, the YP-R1 has is primed to deliver all your favourite media types to direct to the palm of your hand, including that Beat DJ software that allows you to, ahem, scratch on top of songs and add filters and samples to tracks. Like a low-rent Judge Jules.
The Samsung YP-R1 will also have up to 32Gb of storage space, Bluetooth, a TV-out and it’ll support most formats under the sun (including DivX).
Measuring a mere 1cm thin the Samsung YP-R1 has currently nabbed a $180 price tag. We’re still waiting for a Uk price, but if it gets unveiled later this week at the IFA trade show, we’ll let you know.
