Samsung reveals YP-Q2 music player
Samsung YP-Q2: a nano-beater?
Samsung has unveiled a brand new music and video player that seems set to provide the iPod nano with some strong competition.
The YP-Q2 is an updated version of the YP-Q1, and shares its overall looks and a few features, but boasts some very cool new things too: the battery life, for example, runs as long as 50 hours per charge if you just listen to music – that’s more than twice the iPod nano can manage.
The Q2 also supports FLAC lossless files, a move that should have audiophiles weeping joyfully into their beards. Elsewhere there’s a 2.4-inch screen, either 8GB or 16GB of storage space and likely support for BBC iPlayer.
Pricing and availability is still unconfirmed, but this is one music player we’ll be keeping tabs on.
