Samsung launches NX10 hybrid DSLR
Sammy's first DSLR effort
We’re expecting a long line of shiny new gadgets coming out of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week.
But Samsung has jumped the queue by showing off its NX10 digital SLR – a 14.6MP interchangeable-lens snapper offering all the quality of a full DSLR in a body not much bigger than a Micro Four Thirds camera.
The NX10 comes with an APS-C sensor in a compact body with a 3in OLED screen round the back. Along with its considerable ability with still images it also shoots 720p HD video, with an on-board HDMI port ensuring top-quality export.
The Korean gadget maker’s debut D-SLR also introduces an all-new lens mount system, though a separate adapter will allow the NX10 to work with Pentax’s K-mount lenses.
Kicking things off on the lens front is a pair of zoom lenses at 18-55mm and 55-200mm along with a 30mm fixed lens. We’ve no info as yet on pricing, but the NX10 is expected to launch in the spring, and will come in black and silver.
