Samsung H1 hits the shelves
Samsung H1 – Vodafone's first 360 foray
The Vodafone Samsung H1 – the first phone to sport Vodafone 360 social networking goodies hits the shelves today.
The handset itself sports a couple of iPhone-bothering touches, including a pin-sharp 3.5in AMOLED display – similar to the one that graces the Samsung Jet – and speedy one-finger web browsing.
But it’s the proprietary Vodafone 360 UI that has got our tongues wagging. Vodafone 360 unites all your social networking contacts: IM chats, Google Talk mates and regular SIM-held friends in a “rich profile”, where you can access all their info in one place. Twitter integration is planned for the near future and you can even make VoIP calls.
Under the hood, the Vodafone Samsung H1 packs 16GB memory, WiFi, GPS and a 5-megapixel camera. And there’s DRM-free icing on the H1 cake – with a music service incorporating all the major labels.
The phone will be available for free on a monthly Vodafone tariff starting at £35.
