Samsung H1 gets social on October 30!
The Vodafone 360 Samsung H1: hitting a Vodafone Store near you very soon
It was only a few weeks ago that the Samsung H1 was unveiled, wowing us with a polished 3.5-inch AMOLED display and a service capable of bringing all your social network contacts under one roof. But now it’s been given a release date. And the arrival time? Well, this particular train is coming in October 30!
Sign up and pre-order the Vodafone 360 H1 online and you can snaffle up the H1 for ‘free’ on a contract that costs as little as £30 per month. For that you’ll get Vodafone’s usual unlimited bundle – unlimited emails, texts and internet access – and 600 anytime minutes talk time. Naturally, there are more expensive bundles that cater for the more chatterboxy out there.
Just a reminder then what you’re getting into if you snaffle up a Samsung H1: as well as that 3.5-inch AMOLED screen you get a five-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS and 16GB of memory. And then of course there’s the Vodafone 360 service that automatically syncs all contacts from your phone, Facebook, Windows Live Messenger and Google Talk, and will soon also include Twitter. A social networking monster!

Need to know more about this phone to have an opinion, specs look OK, Camera could be better, but 5mp is fine for most people. Will be interesting to see how the OS copes with other stuff. MP3 player, camera use, email will it sync exchange? Blackberry? or are they just gunna try again to make everyone use the rubbish vodafone push solution? As its a Samsung the screen should be excellent, but touchscreen response needs to be confirmed, and you'd expect decent build quality, I just hope the vodafone haven't prioritised gimicky things for everyday useability. I've pre-ordered mine. Happy with previous two Samsung phones and if it lives up to the hype, it'll be great. Not purchasing with the video in mind, so 720p is an added bonus & the video footage produced by the H1 on you tube is very impressive. Can't wait!

Fell at first hurdle! Having been reassured by Vodafone web relations team that there would be plenty of stock to go around, I received en email today advising me that: "Unfortunately we have suffered a surprisingly high demand for the VF 360 H1 BLACK , which means that it is unexpectedly out of stock. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We hope to have further stock available within 7-10 working days and will contact you again once your order has been dispatched." Priority was originally given to new customers, as their system unable to offer upgrades to existing customers when first available for pre-order. Feels like loyalty counts for nothing. Anyone hoping to get their hands on this kit may have to wait a little longer!
