Samsung Galaxy Tab detailed
Samsung Galaxy Tab - Android tablet gets green light
A week after it was teased by Sammy itself, the iPad-battling Galaxy Tab has been detailed at annual gadget fest IFA over in Berlin. And on first impressions it looks every inch the tablet we’ve been hoping for.
The latest Android software keeps things ticking over inside, while it packs in Flash 10.1 so you can take a peak at, in Samsung’s words, “…every single page of the web”. If that’s not a swipe at the Flash-free iPad, then what is?
The screen comes in at 7-inches and you’ll be able to use the in-built Readers Hub app for spying books, magazines and newspapers. Sammy has also unleashed Media Hub, an iTunes rival which lets you access the latest music and movies from the Galaxy Tab. You get seven hours movie playback, three shy of the iPad’s ten hours.
There’s Wi-Fi and 3G inside, as well as a 3 megapixel camera round the back and a front-facing peeper for video-chatting with your pals. That feature works with mobile networks as well as Wi-Fi, meaning the Galaxy Tab will most likely land on contract.
There are 16GB and 32GB models, with Samsung saying the Galaxy Tab will arrive in the UK ‘soon’. Will you be getting one? Or does the iPad still rule? Let us know what you think in the comments section now.

Looks good, but a lot depends on price and what it is like to actually use the thing. Ease of use (and fun factor) is what I love about my iPad. I think it will be successful, but the iPad still rules imho.

Well if its like other Samsung products this will be the dogs bllks, I initially did go and buy the iPad, with all the hype, though it has failed to live up to the name, poor Wifi reception, side by side with my Samsung N140, pages on the iPad take more than twice as long, to refresh if at all, very poor photo management, no flash, no SD slot, tied to itunes, the list goes on, my eyes where opened when we recently purchased the HTC Desire, with andriod 2.2, so the Samsung combination will tick all the boxes, anyone want a second hand iPad.

if i use the tab on the three network, 5gb of data is 15 quid, but an ipad can have 10gb for 15 quid... i cry foul, or brown envelopes... can asda give me half price petrol for owning a ford without it being frontpage news..

The smaller screen just ruins the whole thing for me. I'm typing this on an iPad now and finding it easy but that wouldn't be the case for something smaller like the tab
