Samsung Galaxy S on pre-order now
Samsung Galaxy S – hi-def handset coming soon
The Samsumg Galaxy S – the Android-toting smartphone with special media credentials – has gone on pre-order today at Vodafone. Samsung’s latest creation sets itself apart from the smartphone crowd by offering a super AMOLED (480×800) screen and HD video capability.
The Korean company recently dismissed the iPhone 4’s Retina Display as inferior to the Super AMOLED technology used on the Galaxy S. And the screen is the big selling point of this latest handset – it’s ridiculously sharp and at 4in, it’s large enough to show nearly any video file that you care to throw at it. It’ll also shoot in 720p high-definition.
The Vodafone deal is pretty standard for a top-drawer smartphone: it’s free if you commit to a £35 per month contract for a year, or £40 for 18 months. If you register now you’ll have one in your hands by 15 June.

Love this phone had it for 3weeks im a bit dissapaointed there is no flash but you cant have it all. The video quality is amazing and there are little features that set it apart. For instance i was on the phone to my mum and all of a sudden this lady pops up saying "you have a message from your husband" even my mum heard it i was amazed as i never realised it could do this. The swype texting is also good i personally dont use it but i can imagine if used frequently you could write a message super fast. There is a downside, i prviously had the desire and never experienced freezing but i do on the galaxy and quite frequently to for instance being on the menu and going back to home screen it freezes, but to be honest thats the only fault. My husband has the i phone 4 and it also freezes and the ammount that the iphone 4 costs i would not expect 1single problem with it but there is also the signal problem it has, so it just goes to show that no phone is perfect. The video recorder on the galaxy is stunning it shoots in hd 720p. Unfortunatley it doesnt survive drops because i dropped my phone nd smashed the screen and it wasnt covered under the warranty so i have to pay 80pound for a new screen so beware. All in all i would give the samsung galaxy s a 9/10 not bad so please do buy you wont find a better phone this samsung has features and does things the iphone 4 cant even do.
