Revamped Android Market open for business
The new-look Android Market
Google has marked the rolling out of the latest version of Android by giving its Android Market app store a once-over to go with it.
The treasure trove of Android content is now wrapped up in a much cleaner interface, with a carousel of featured content replacing the tabbed system of old in an Android-green area at the top of the screen.
Those looking for a more efficient way of finding new content will be disappointed to hear Google still isn’t making it particularly easy, with a list of related apps at the bottom of the screen the closest you get to a recommendation engine.
One or two changes aren’t just cosmetic, however. Google has introduced two new categories of apps – Widgets and Live Wallpapers – while the 24-hour wait for refunds on apps you decide you don’t like after all has been slashed to just 15 minutes.
The new-look Android Market will be going live to users of Android 1.6 onwards over the next couple of weeks.

Hmmm.. not so sure of the new layout.. I have a Wildfire and the screen resolution is fairly low.. meaning that the Google Market home screen only shows a little bit of info as the header looks HUGE.. occupies more than half the screen! Meh, that's progress for you :S
