Record your life with Looxcie

Record your life with Looxcie Hands-free video jollies

Ever wanted to let the world see what you see? Now you can with Looxcie’s headset-mounted Bluetooth camcorder.

This wearable cam looks not dissimilar to your average Bluetooth headset, but its bag of tricks also includes a 480×320 15fps camera, situated at eye level ready to capture things quite literally from your point of view.

There’s 4GB of storage tucked away inside the earpiece, which according to its makers is good for around five hours of MP4 video. You won’t be able to use it all at once, however, as battery life is quoted only as four hours (or 10 hours if only being used as a headset).

Usefully, the camera is constantly buffering the last 30 seconds, which can be packaged up as a ready-made video clip at any time thanks to the Instant Clip feature.

The Looxcie comes with a companion Android app for reviewing your clips and uploading them to the web, with an iOS version reportedly also in the pipelines. For now this innovative head cam is only available in the US, where it will set you back $199.
