Pure Avanti Flow sends us radio ga ga…
…but not radio goo goo. We don’t know what that is
Things you need from a modern day stereo: great audio, an iPod dock, internet radio stations, DAB, and a name taken from a well-known contraception brand. Okay, the last one’s not strictly essential, but this home audio system puts a big tick in all those boxes anyway.
The Pure Avanti Flow has built-in Wi-Fi capabilities for streaming your music from a PC or Mac and is able to access hundreds of digital radio stations from around the world. Perfect if you fancy listening to the Gipsy Kings all day long on Radio Rumba Catalana. Throw in DAB radio and a dock for your iPod and this radio is pretty much future-proof.
With two three-inch mid-range drive units and a 5.25-inch downward-firing subwoofer the sound’s powerful enough to fill a mid-sized room, and thanks to Pure’s Clearsound technology, the audio’s as clear as a pre-pubescent boy’s skin.
We suspect that Pure concentrated so much on cramming this with features that they ran down the design budget, but aside from the pretty bland looks, this looks like being a top all-round audio pumping device. You’ll be able to get your hands on it in December for £279.99 – that’s less than the price of a 1997 FIAT Punto on eBay!
