PS3 gets first 3D games
PS3 – 3D treats are here!
The PlayStation 3 finally gets some titles today for its 3D upgrade. That’s right – if you’ve given your PS3 its firmware upgrade to handle 3D games, you’ll find that today’s the day you can start to game in an extra dimension.
Sony’s “Stereoscopic 3D” collection of games has arrived. Titles include Wipeout HD, Super Stardust HD, PAIN and one level of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.
The games cost £23.99 from the PlayStation network, or free if you’re purchasing a new Bravia 3D TV. Which brings us to an important point – remember that you’ll need a 3D TV to enjoy the added graphics. What do you think? Will 3D gaming catch on or is it just a gimmick? Have your say below…

I think that maybe the advances in TV Tech may be moving forward a tad to quickly for most of us. I wouldn't imagine owning a 3D telly for three years or more purely down to priorities. I'd love to see it in action though!!

sad to see theres no call of duty's in 3D because as long as it was not to expestive there sales would hit the roof

I was gaming in 3D at the gadget show live and it's awsome! But the 3D TV's at the moment are just too expensive for any teenager (who if we're honest are the main gaming audience) to afford or blag off their parents for christmas. So i think in a few years time when the market has been flooded with 3D TV's then we'll see 3D gaming in action, and by then there should be a lot more 3D games. Who knows! But it's good to see that they're considering 3D games early! Because no matter how much i love my PS3 Sony are TERRIBLE at doing 'new things'! Always one step behind!

@StudentTech Sony aren't one step behind! Who told you that!?!?! Sony won two of the greatest console wars (PSOne & PS2) and the PS3 might just also be this gen's successor. Sony were EXCELLENT with DualShock, EXCELLENT with EyeToy, EXCELLENT with Online-Gaming, EXCELLENT with Online-Features. PSN is FREE! User-Friendly XMB! HOW IS SONY ALWAYS ONE STEP BEHIND?!?! Their PS Move is 2 months ahead of Kinect's release date! 3D is 1 YEAR AHEAD OF Xbox 360's estimated 3D Integration (rumoured). SO IF SONY IS ONE STEP BEHIND! Microsoft is 3 steps behind them, actually meaning that Sony is two steps ahead!
