BenQ's pico-packing pocket cam

It’s a perfect match, really: a pocket camcorder that also comes packing a pico projector for instant playback of the clips you’ve just recorded.

So well done to BenQ for putting two and two together and coming up with 11, or DV S11, as it happens: the model name of the cam in question.

Aside from the on-board projector, the DV S11 is very much your average pocket camcorder in the Flip Mino mould, and gives you full HD 1080p recording – though without the ability to zoom – and 5-megapixel image capture.

BenQ says the projector is capable of sharing images up to 50 inches in size, and while it’s keeping the rest of the spec mum at this point, if it’s like most other pico projectors we’ve come across you’ll need to be in a fairly dark room to make any sense of pictures at that size.

For now the DV S11 is slated for Hong Kong only, where it’s going on sale for a shade under £200. Let’s hope BenQ projects it this way in the New Year.
