Premier League football comes to the iPhone
Sky's Mobile TV app lets you put the Premiership in your pocket
It’s a big day for the iPhone. First Orange joins O2 as the second UK provider, now Sky finally gives us its mobile TV app and the reality of live Premiership footy.
The Sky Mobile TV News & Sport app, to use its full name, delivers all of Sky’s own sports channels as well as At The Races, ESPN, Sky News and Sky Sports News.
In announcing the app, Sky’s David Gibbs said: “Our new Sky Mobile TV App combines the demand for great live TV on the move with the high quality viewing experience offered by iPhone and iPod Touch.”
The service connects via Wi-Fi, and is available on all generations of iPhones. You will have to stump up £6 per month for the privilege, though the app itself is a free download. Sky’s iPhone app joins the recently announced Sky Player service for the Xbox 360 as the satellite broadcaster looks to expand its reach to new platforms.
