Polaroid PoGo printer-cam: an instant success?

Polaroid PoGo printer-cam: an instant success? The PoGo: nothing to do with bouncing sticks. Everything to do with instant prints

What’s that? The Kevin Keegan perm, unfeasibly tight, small shorts and Polaroid cameras are back in fashion? Well, er, no. Actually maybe that last one, because Polaroid has only gone and announced the arrival of the PoGo Instant Digital Camera – a digital camera with built-in printer.

So what’s the deal? Well, the PoGo is actually an amalgamation of its Zink instant printer and a digital camera. Just take a snap of your four girlfriends stuffing their faces (as can be seen in the above image) – you can frame it up easily on the three-inch screen – then print away. Polaroid says that it’ll deliver a 2×3 inch print in under 60 seconds, and because it uses Zink technology and Zink paper there’s no having to wait for ink to dry.

The PoGo is going on sale in America in March, with a European release to follow shortly. This could be the biggest comeback since that amazing new band, Take That. Okay, bad example, but we are quite excited about this. Now, where did we put those flares?

Isn’t it bulky as it is a Camera and a printer in one? Also I wouldn't want it in my pocket if/when it springs an ink cartridge leak.

Pogo uses ZINK (no ink) technology - so don't worry about an ink leak!

LOL at Lenry, ZINK (Zero Ink) paper that's thermally activated. No drying to wait for and more importantly no ink to replace. Produces some good quality prints too.

big and heavy. not the best camera or printer. photo quality for size of print bad but if you can get it for less than recommended price (say £160) give it a go.

Hi, i had the pogo printer for Christmas , and I think it's very good for the price. The thing is that you can put it in your pocket and print on the move .

Sorry... 2"x3" prints... it's failed already no matter the quality.. it'll be a successful kids toy if its made cheap enough otherwise there's no point in it

The PoGo printer's print quality was like some mid-90s dot matrix printer on a credit card sized photo. Absolutely horrendous, give me a Polaroid 600 any day.

Very useful in a number of professions. In HR it is useful to photograph delegates on courses and job applicant as a reminder of the identies. 2 x 3 is fine

I looked at these as an option for holiday snaps, you know take a picture on your iphone, print out and swap with folks you are on holiday with, but at 25p or more, you may as well pop into your local super market and let them print them, and a lot bigger than 2x3.
