Pioneer N-30 and N-50 music streamers perfect for Android and iPhone users
Looking for a high-end way to bounce music around your home? Pioneer has announced details of two new music streamers that offer everything the modern music lover needs. The high-end Pioneer N-50 is joined by the Pioneer N-30 to offer support for AirPlay and DLNA 1.5, as well as a host of format supports.
The Pioneer N-30 and N-50 music streamers are a couple of networked audio players that pack in a 2.5-inch full-colour LCD display, which is able to show full album artwork, along with track details of the song being played.

Both the Pioneer N-30 and N-50 support standard compressed audio formats, such as MP3, WMA and AAC. However, for the true audiophile you’ll find there is support for 192kHz/24-Bit FLAC and WAV files too.
When it comes to extra features, you’ll find full support for vTuner Internet radio, which offers up more than 16,000 Internet radio stations around the world, as well as control apps for both iPhone and Android smartphones.
So, is there anything that splits these two devices apart? Well, you’ll find in the N-50 that Pioneer has added an ‘armoured chassis’ to help dampen noise. There is also the addition of gold-plated RCA jacks, which helps deliver the best audio connection to your speakers possible.
The N-50 also comes with audio features, such as Advanced Sound Retriever and Sound Retriever AIR that enhance the audio quality of compressed audio files, delivering near-CD quality from portable media players, Internet radio and Bluetooth audio transmissions. Finally, it also offers a DAC Only Mode, for those users who have access to equipment using the older technology.
There are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters up for grabs, but these come as optional extras at this point. Pricing for the Pioneer N-30 and N-50 music streamers has yet to be set here in the UK but with the high-end version costing $699, and the entry-level N-30 costing $499, you may well have to be serious about your music to want to invest.
