Pink Nintendo DSi coming for Valentine's Day
The pink gadget parade begins...
Nintendo is launching a bright pink version of its DSi handheld console, which will go on sale on February 12 – just two days before Valentine’s Day.
Admittedly, the tie-in to Cupid’s annual love-in may extend little deeper than that, but the pink number is clearly designed for gamers of the female persuasion, coming as it does with fashion title Nintendo Presents Style Boutique.
Happily, there is other gaming hardware news to keep the rest of us excited too. Nintendo reminded us of its forthcoming 4.2in-screened DSi XL, which lands in March in two colours – wine red and dark brown.
And for a full-sized gaming treat, Nintendo has decided to extend availability of its exclusive black Wii console bundle, which throws the limited-edition non-white console, the Wii MotionPlus controller, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort in a single box for £180.
US gamers, meanwhile, will be able to pick up a MotionPlus controller in pink or blue from Valentine’s Day itself, but there’s no word yet whether UK gamers will be given the same dubious honour.
