PhotoTrackr Mini DLP900: geotagging for any camera
The Phototrackr Mini DLP900 adds location data to any photo you take.
Geotagging is an undeniably handy feature for any camera, using GPS to tell you exactly where each of your photos was taken. But it’s only available in a tiny proportion of digital snappers – unless you get you hands on an external third party GPS module, such as the newly-announced PhotoTrackr Mini DLP900.
Essentially a USB stick with a GPS receiver, it can be synced precisely to your camera’s built-in clock using some bundled software. You then carry the device with you on your shoot, snapping merrily away for as long as you like.
When you get home, you plug the PhotoTrackr into your PC and sync it again with your new photos. Using the timings and its software, the PhotoTrackr then tags each of your shots with its precise location data, letting you plot your photos on a map later on. RAW and Mac files are supported in addition to JPEG, which should appeal to photographers who take their work very seriously.
The PhotoTrackr Mini is available in the US for $70 (£42).

A nice idea, but will it work with Linux operating systems?
