Philips 21:9 cinema 3D TV incoming!
Philips 21:9 – widescreen and soon 3D
The 3D TV onslaught continues, with news just in that Philips will be bringing its 3D version of its groundbreaking 21:9 cinema TV to these shores in the summer.
The ultra-widescreen TV is the first commercially available set that uses the widescreenaspect ratio for full film-like viewing and now a whole new dimension will be added to the experience. Could this be the most immersive telly on the market?
Philips says that more details on the Philips Cinema 21:9 3D TV will arrive nearer the Summer launch date, so we’ll have to wait a couple of months before finding out any more details – like the all-important price for instance. Our advice is to start saving right now…

I don't see the fuss about 3D. Call me old-fashioned, but I think a good script, good acting and good direction are what is important to a movie or TV show. Avatar was terrible, but it looked good. But that's not enough for me. I like watching online video sites and keep up to date with www.twitter.com/dozenvideo but I can't see what the 3D hype is all about. I think in 2 years, 3D will be yesterday's news. Don't believe the hype, 3D is just another gimmick.
