Pentax goes colour-mad with 'robotic' K-r
There'll be no mistaking which camera's yours...
Many new products promise to help you stand out from the crowd, but in the case of this limited-edition Pentax K-r DSLR, there’s truth in every word.
Just announced for the Japanese market, this multicoloured robot-themed version of the otherwise excellent K-r has been dipped generously in the red, yellow and blue paint tins, and has a fair helping of white and grey too.
Completing the somewhat bizarre picture is a white ‘robot head’ attached to the camera’s flash hotshoe. The camera’s specs are otherwise unchanged from the conventional K-r, but you do get an all-new 35mm f2.4 prime lens on the front – decked out in the same colours as the camera body itself, naturally.
The exact reasoning behind Pentax’s decision to unleash this shock to the senses on an unsuspecting public isn’t entirely clear – beyond the basic “because we can” – but if you’re willing to shell out for postage from Japan, you’ll be able to pre-order one of these babies for around £770 on December 24. Be warned, though: Pentax is only making 100 of them… which we’re somehow grateful for.

One present that I would definitely not want for Christmas is a box of Hotel Chocolates, they're disgusting Polly
