Panasonic shows off new HD camcorders
Panny's latest camcorder high-flyer
Panasonic has pulled the curtain back on its latest pair of high-tech camcorders.
Both the HDC-HS700 and TM700 shoot full HD video at 60fps, and make use of a 3MOS sensor system that promises top-notch colours and low-light performance.
A 35mm wide-angle Leica lens and 12x optical zoom provide plenty of flexibility, and the new arrivals also record audio in 5.1 surround sound.
As with the current 300-generation models, the difference between the two relates to on-board storage, with the TM700 offering 32GB of flash memory and the HS700 a whopping 240GB of standard hard drive space.
Both models can also shoot to SD cards – including the new high-capacity SDXC cards – and the two modes of storage can be used in tandem, with the camera switching to the other format once storage space runs out.
You’ll be able to get your hands on these fancy-pants cams as of next month, and while we’ve yet to get confirmation on price, don’t be surprised if it runs into four figures.
