Panasonic Lumix LX5 gets official Panasonic Lumix LX5 – brand new snapper

The Panasonic Lumix LX5, Panny’s new compact wondercam that has been leaked all over the web recently, has today received an official outing.

It’s another compact that takes DSLR features and packs them into a compact body. Inside you’ll find a 24mm wide-angle Leica lens, 3.8 optical zoom and a 10.1MP sensor.

The LX5 can also handle full HD video clips, recording to AVCHD Lite. You can also port your blockbusters stright to your TV thanks to the HDMI out. Panasonic also claims that you’ll get a whopping 400 shots from a single charge.

There’s no official word on UK timing or availability, but we’ll be testing this baby in the flesh when we can get our hands on one. Elsewhere, Panasonic also outed the waterproof and shockproof Lumix TX10 with 4x zoom and 14.1MP, as well as the FX700 with 5x optical zoom and 1080p video and the 14.1MP FZ40 and FZ100.

Having recently purchased a Panasonic Lumix LX5, which is currently one of the best if not the best small digital camera around. I was really surprised to find that there is no review of the FX5 on your web site? Is this a case of so many products in the market place, but not enough time to review them? Kind regards Brian Scott
