Panasonic HM-TA1 camcorder takes on Flip
Panasonic TA1 – feature-packed Flip-botherer
Panasonic has released the HM-TA1 today, and the tiny HD camcorder looks set to take on the Flips and Kodak Zi8s of this world. And it’s just the thing if your budget doesn’t quite stretch to the SDT750 3D behemoth, also announced today.
The Panasonic HM-TA1 shoots to 1080p HD video and comes sporting 320x optical zoom and an LED light for shooting in low light. Even better is that it totes a microphone and webcam, so you can use it for Skype and webchats when you hook it up to your PC via the integrated USB plug.
It also sports direct upload to the likes of FaceBook and YouTube and supports iFrame support, meaning that it’ll cosy up with iMovie on your Mac with no additional faffing.
The Panasonic HM-TA1 will cost a pocket-pleasing £130 when it arrives in August.

"Despite its small size, the TA1 has an incredible 4 x Digital Zoom so you can still get up close and personal to all the action" Source: http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/News/Latest+news/5469280/index.html No mention of a 320x optical zoom, which, is nigh on impossible to squeeze into such a small body...

When it comes to shooting home videos, the choices are ever-expanding. You can now use smart phones and digital cameras to make quick videos, but Consumer Reports' tests show that a better option is a pocket video camera. The latest pocket camcorders are super-slim and small enough to fit into a pocket. Consumer Reports tested more than a dozen, ranging in price from $65 to $250, from brands such as Kodak, Creative, Sony, and Flip. <a href="http://www.hmta1.com/features> Pocket Camcorders</a>
