Panasonic HDC-SDT750 3D camcorder is official
Panasonic HDC-SDT750 – extra dimensional fun
The Panasonic HDC-SDT750 may have been subject to more leaks than a boat made of colanders, but Panasonic has now made the first commercially available 3D camcorder official.
It’s the first camcorder of its kind to be available to the public – it works by using a 3D coversion lens at the front of the device that splits the image shot in two, at exactly the right distance apart (about eye distance obviously) as right and left images.
The HDC-SDT750 will shoot 1080p at 60fps and in AVCHD format, although because the image is split it means that if you’re shooting in 3D, you’ll be capturing at 960×1080. You’ll also need a 3D telly or monitor to pump out your 3D masterpiece to, via HDMI. The Panasonic 3D camcorder will also handle 3D stills and port them to SD card.
The SDTV750 will be on sale from October and will set you back $1,399.
